For God has not given us a
spirit of fear, but of power
and of love and of a sound
mind. II Tim. 1:7
It seems every time I turn around there’s something else that we are supposed to be afraid of or fearful about. It’s turning into an epidemic of sorts. People these days seem to be overly concerned about their safety. The enemy knows that if he can cause us to be fearful, and concerned for our physical safety he will have made us basically useless. Those concerned for their lives will not take risks, even if God tells them too. Instead they will find multiple excuses for why God wouldn’t tell them to do something dangerous. God really isn’t nearly as concerned about our physical safety as we are. I don’t think the early apostles were either.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. Mark 8:35
That was the motto, if you will, that the early church lived by. So often we get caught up in this earthly physical side of things and forget that this is not our true reality. The spiritual realm is the true reality. Thus, if doing something that endangers my physical body brings about tremendous results in the spiritual realm, it is by far worth it. Our true wealth is found by living in the true reality. We are spirit beings. We are not of this world. We are not to lay up treasure in earthly things. Last week I was reading some articles about the volcano in Iceland...
The whole Muslim religion operates on fear. They want the entire world to be so fearful of them that we will just roll over and say do whatever you want, we won’t stop you. Well, if this is the road we are going to take then expect them to show up on your doorstep, because they will. Not standing up to them is not going to make us exempt from any of their hate-filled plans; it just means they have it easier. David confronted Goliath without fear, why? Because he was indignant over the way this giant was treating his God, the ONE TRUE GOD. He wasn’t concerned about his physical safety...
When you love someone you also begin to love the things they love. God loves the Jewish people. They are very special to His heart. Therefore they should be very special to our hearts. This should cause us to stand up for them and stand with them. During WWII there were ship loads of Jews fleeing from slaughter who were denied safety by the US; they refused to let them come into our land. Why? Because then we would have to get involved. Well, it’s time to get involved. Anti-Semitism is on the rise. There have been reports (not from mainstream media) of all sorts of violent acts against Jewish communities in Europe, especially in France. Ignoring things won’t cause them to disappear.
God always makes it clear what He thinks about things. Recently Israel’s tourism was attacked by European countries because they advertised locations to visit within their country that are part of the West Bank, and thus in the eyes of some not actually part of Israel. One such site that they said couldn’t be advertised since it is contested is the Wailing Wall...
“Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you SHALL ANSWER ME. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding…” Job 38:1-4
